Our 2006 E90 needed some attention after years of faithful service as my wife's daily driver. I can do a lot of the normal maintenance, but once in a while you just need some extra help to do the things only a mechanic can do on today automobiles. Mason was very upfront on both the time it would take to perform the work as well as the cost. His work was thorough, the shop was clean and he took a lot of time to make sure I knew what he was doing. In fact, without even being asked, Mason kept the old parts that he had to replace to show me what was going on. Most places you have to remind them that you legally have a right to this (you do, call the BAR if you have issues). I knew what the problem was having been under the car and seen it myself, but Mason just kept them to ensure that I was shown what he saw as well. To top it all off, his dealership eclipsing service is very affordable and when you factor in the 6-star service, you can't bring your car to a better shop.

Wow - what great service! All the staff here are so friendly and helpful (not at all like other shop's I've been to where they make you feel like you're bothering them). I have two BMWs that are a few years old and have needed repairs. I've been to see Mason (the owner) with my cars several times over the past 6 months and each time he has been very knowledgeable and helpful. He always seems to know what the problem is and the best way to fix it. He's helped me by doing the repairs in the most efficient and cost-saving way possible (saving me literally thousands over dealer costs) and I'm totally satisfied with his work. My favorite part about coming here is that each time, Mason or one of his staff, takes the time to show me what was actually wrong and how it was repaired. One time he even had video for me of my broken transfer case chain. Now I know that the problems are really fixed! Thanks so much for keeping my cars on the road and running in tip top shape!

I recently bought a mini from a private seller that had been taking the car to mason to get serviced. Since he knew the history of the car we opted to stick with him. Given that this was the first service that the car had since we purchased it, we asked mason to check everything to see if anything was wrong. Mason called me up that day and walked me through some things that were concerning and told me if they were urgent/needed. He was really helpful and honest in educating us. I went with his recommendations and the car needed to stay in the shop for another day. Mason arranged for me to get a car rental and said he'd foot the cost! It was a really nice gesture so my girlfriend wouldn't have to ruin her day getting me back and forth as well. The next day I returned the rental and got to the shop. Mason was quick to greet me and was super friendly. He, again, walked me through the repairs and actually showed me what he had replaced (he showed me the cracked engine mounts). Overall a great experience considering what I was in for. Mason was helpful, friendly, and honest. I don't enjoy getting my car repaired but this has to be close to as good as it gets.

I recently bought a used 2009 Volvo from Los Angeles, and when I drove it back I wanted a local shop to take a look at it. I always prefer to find a shop that specializes in one or two makes. As a car guy, I honestly believe "Jack of all trades, master of none". I had a Honda shop work on my 14 years old Honda so when I bought this car, I know I needed a Volvo shop. I first came across Fast Lane European on Yelp. I filter Yelp reviews by how many of the reviewers that left reviews also left reviews at other places, because then you know that they are active reviewer and not paid shills. Fast Lane European had a bunch of reviews from people who are active Yelpers, not to mention they are walking distance from work, so I decided to give them a try. I've since used them five times in the two months I've had my car, and here are my thoughts. 1. Post-purchase inspection: Like I said, I bought a 2009 Volvo C70 from Los Angeles. When I ought it back I called Fast Lane European. Mason, the owner, answered and was able to fit me in for an inspection an hour later. He found a few problems and told me to go down to the local Volvo dealer to get them fixed under warranty. The whole encounter was pleasant and profession and my impression is that he is someone who takes pride in his work. Left happy, had the local dealer fix my problem. 2. Two weeks later I decided to get a trailer hitch installed. I ordered an aftermarket part from the internet based on my research, called Mason and made an appointment, and left the car with him. Got a call later and found out that part doesn't actually fit. When I went to pick my car he said there was no charge since he couldn't install it. Despite my insistence that he be paid for his time, he declined my offer to pay him. 3. A few weeks later I needed my 60k service. I need a few others thing done, so I called and set up an appointment. He ordered all the parts for me, had them ready when I brought the car in, and did the work in less time promised. Price is fair and there were no surprises. 4. Two days before Labor Day weekend I had a mishap on a Wednesday night. I called his first thing Thursday morning and he said to tow the car there. Turns out that I did more damage than I thought, which involved ordering new rims, new tires, and what not. Despite being completely booked for that Thursday and Friday, he managed to squeeze me in. He was honestly that he can't promise the car will be done before the weekend, but despite a repair that involved some serious logistics like involved ordering parts and going to tire shops, he managed to get my car done by Friday evening, which saved me rental car fees for the long weekend and I was able to go on my road trip. At the end of the day despite having a few more cars to work on, he took the time explaining AND showing me everything that was done. At no point did I feel like he was rushing me out of the door. 5. My audio system developed a buzzing noise that was most definitely not there two weeks ago. Today I took it to the local dealer since it was an warranty repair. When I picked it up they told me it was "normal" and basically told me that I need to live with it. I'm not a confrontational person so I was not going to call the mechanic at the dealership a liar, but I know that problem did not exist so when I left the dealer I took the car to Mason, without an appointment. 15 minutes and a small replacement audio jack later, that noise is gone, proving that I was right all along. Fast Lane European: 1, local dealer: 0. Every encounter I've had with Mason and his team at Fast Lane European has been professional, courteous, and they've been more than accommodating when I've been in a tight spot. In the last case, the took the time to figure out the problem that the dealer didn't. I count myself a very happy customer and I'll continue to go back to them as long as I live in the area and own a Volvo.

Mason & Co. are fantastic car docs! Save the Volvo! Save the Volvo! Fair price, awesome service and experience. 3 times here: spark plugs, fluids, light bulbs, and of course, the oil change. Mason keeps the S60 humming along. I asked Mason if I needed the ATF changed, he checked it, and said not yet. You won't be "sold" any unnecessary parts or service here. He even recommended things to keep a look out for before they fail and really cause major problems. I'm sad that I have to move and find another honest shop to take care of the Volvo. Thank you thank you thank you!

What can I say? I was really happy with the service Mason & his crew gave me. I have an Audi Quattro TT that wouldn't pass smog because of some warning lights. My car was actually acting like it was possessed. I hadn't had it serviced in forever. I was dreading taking care of it because of the costs & I couldn't trade it in. I went to Mason on a recommendation. Mason went out of his way to help keep the costs in check. He arranged a rental at super reasonable rates. After his analysis, he explained everything to me that needed to happen & how much it would cost. When I came to pick up my car, I was super surprised to see that he had had my car detailed as part of his service. I totally wasn't expecting that. He showed me all the old parts that were replaced. I liked that some of the parts he replaced were with better materials, (brass instead of plastic parts) so that they will last longer. I also needed a new main computer (ya, not cheap) but Mason knew of a company that refurbished them for less than half the cost of a new one & provided a lifetime guarantee on their work. Saved me a ton of money! I no longer call my car "Christine" and it runs SO good now! It had a total overhaul, had a brain transplant, looked hot & passed smog easily. Mason is trustworthy & I really felt like he had my best interests in mind. The workmanship gets top marks. Definitely recommended!

It was 92 degrees outside when my check engine light began flashing. I did not want to be stranded with my 4 year old daughter in the heat. I checked Yelp for a nearby mechanic specializing in Volvos. This was the only business with consistently positive reviews. Mason was friendly and helpful over the phone as well as in person. He even gave my family a ride home. My car needed a lot of work, but it was well worth it. It runs better than when I first bought it. He called me on Monday with the diagnostic as he said he would when we dropped off the car, and it was finished by Thursday when he said it would be done. I was pleasantly surprised that they cleaned it for me too. I will definitely bring my car back to Mason when it needs maintenance.

Ok .... for starters I can say that when I take my car to a mechanic I am automatically scared that I am going to be way over charged, lied to, and my car will get so-so attention. Finally I found a mechanic who is not only trustworthy and honest but Mason truly cares about helping you. This place rocks and I will never ever ever take my car elsewhere. I suggest you do the same and bring your car to Fast Lane European.

I brought my xc70 here for a second opinion after being told I needed a $1200 repair. Mason showed me what had to be done, was able to clean some expensive parts rather than replace and charged significantly less. in addition he found a coolant leak which he showed me with the car up on the lift. I had just pick the car up from another mechanic who did the 90,000 mile $300 service which included checking the coolant system. It must not have been checked. Mason is very thorough and knowledgeable. Now that i found mason I will keep my Volvo longer. i was considering trading it in.

2 check-ins Mason rocks. Easily the friendliest, most thorough, and knowledgeable mechanic I've met. I started with the check engine light and about 38k miles on it. We did the service, and afterwards Mason pointed out a few warranty/recall items I should have addressed. He even called Volvo to find out if I was under warranty or not (unfortunately not) so when it comes time to do the out of warranty work, I'll be back.
